Colchester Rosé 2007

Colchester Rosé 2007
Grape:Phoenix and DornfelderVineyard:Carter's Vineyards
Dryness:2Wine Maker:Mary Mudd
ABV:11%
Colchester, England's oldest recorded town, enjoys a reputation for roses and oysters. Since 1765, rose producers have been an important part of the Colchester economy. Colchester's dry climate and slightly warmer temperatures bring roses into flower before anywhere else in England. In 1998, the first Colchester Rosé Wine was produced as a colourful tribute to our town's connection with the most English of all flowers. Made from the grape varieties Phoenix and Dornfelder, this is a light, plummy, soft summer wine for drinking in the sunshine on the patio. The 1998 was awarded a Bronze Medal in The 1999 East Anglian Wine of the Year Competition.

Kemp's Rosé

Kemp's Rosé

Dryness:2Wine Maker:John Kemp
ABV:10.5%
Think of summertime and I also think of a nice glass of rosé wine. This is a blend of a red grape called Rondo which had its origins in Russia and three white grape varieties grown in our Suffolk vineyard. It is on the dry side for a rosé and definitely tastes better with a little sunshine on your back.

So drink it in the garden. Also, goes well with a nice salmon steak.

Carter's Sparkling Rosé 2004

Carter's Sparkling Rosé 2004
Grape:Orion, Chardonnay and DornfelderVineyard:Carter's Vineyards
Dryness:3Wine Maker:Mary Mudd
ABV:12%
This is a delicious demi sec rosé sparkling wine.

It is made by the traditional method from Orion and Chardonnay grapes. The juice from these grapes is left to soak on top of the skins of a pressed red variety for several hours to absorb some of the red pigment.

Once bottled it is left for at least two years during which time a secondary fermentation takes place.

It is a lovely crisp, refreshing wine with strawberry aromas.
